PIA Successfully Completes Pre-Hajj Operation, 97% Flights Depart on Time

Islamabad: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has successfully completed its pre-Hajj operation for 2026, ensuring timely transportation of thousands of pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.

According to a PIA spokesperson, 97 percent of the flights during the pre-Hajj operation departed on time this year, reflecting improved operational efficiency. The airline transported over 53,000 pilgrims through 210 special and scheduled flights.

The spokesperson said that PIA exceeded its performance targets, achieving a punctuality rate seven percent higher than the set benchmark.

Pilgrims were transported from major cities including Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Sialkot, and Quetta through direct flights to Saudi Arabia.

The airline administration has also finalized arrangements for the post-Hajj operation, which will begin on May 30, 2026. The final return flight is scheduled to land in Pakistan on June 30, 2026.

PIA spokesperson Zafar Hashmi said that special arrangements were made to facilitate pilgrims, contributing to the successful completion of the operation. The airline’s performance has been widely appreciated by various circles following the smooth execution of the Hajj operation.
