More Women Accuse Lawmaker in Alleged Harassment Case Involving Actress Momina Iqbal

LAHORE: Pakistani television actress Momina Iqbal has claimed that several other women have come forward with allegations against the same Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) she recently accused of harassment.

In an Instagram story, the actress stated that she had received messages from multiple girls who alleged that the same lawmaker had also harassed them and that they are now willing to testify as witnesses.

“I will take this matter to its logical conclusion,” Momina Iqbal said, while also thanking the public and media community for their support during what she described as a difficult time. However, she urged people not to make premature accusations before her formal statement is officially recorded.

She added that those responsible for harassment would eventually be exposed publicly.

According to reports, the actress had earlier spoken out against alleged prolonged harassment, inappropriate messages, and psychological pressure. She also expressed disappointment over what she described as insufficient protection despite repeatedly approaching police and cybercrime authorities with complaints.

The case gained nationwide attention, prompting Maryam Nawaz to take notice of the matter.

Sources said the Punjab chief minister personally intervened due to the seriousness of the allegations. Following the development, Momina Iqbal praised the government’s response and thanked Maryam Nawaz for taking immediate action, referring the case to relevant authorities, and ensuring security for her and her family.

The actress also appreciated the efforts of the NCCIA for issuing notices to the accused individuals.
