Young Doctors Association Strongly Condemns Transfer of Trauma Centre Equipment, Demands Immediate Reversal

Quetta (Kudrat News) — The spokesperson of the Young Doctors Association (YDA) Balochistan has strongly condemned the alleged forcible transfer of valuable equipment from the Trauma Centre of Civil Hospital Quetta to Trauma Centre Spinny Road in broad daylight, calling it a direct attack on patient care, emergency services, and the public healthcare system.

The spokesperson stated that certain officials and influential individuals within the Health Department consider themselves above the law, which is why such illegal and unfortunate actions are repeatedly being witnessed. He added that earlier, equipment from Sheikh Zayed Hospital Saryab was secretly shifted to the Balochistan Institute of Cardiology, and now the Civil Hospital Trauma Centre is being targeted.

The statement said that the Trauma Centre is a fully functional unit where trained doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff provide timely emergency treatment to hundreds of patients daily. Deliberately rendering it non-functional is part of a “systematic conspiracy” against the public, doctors, and healthcare institutions.

The YDA further said that if this move was legal and in the public interest, the equipment would not have been transferred in such a manner, but through a transparent process. It added that certain elements within the Health Department are damaging institutions to hide their incompetence, poor planning, and personal interests.

The statement further criticized the provincial government for claiming to establish modern trauma centres while simultaneously weakening already functional healthcare facilities, calling it a “dual policy and a betrayal of the public.”

The Young Doctors Association demanded the immediate return of all transferred equipment, full restoration of the Trauma Centre, and strict action against all officials involved in the decision. It also called for declaring burn centres as units of Civil Hospital under specialist supervision and ending political interference, favoritism, and anti-institutional policies in the Health Department.

The YDA warned that if the decision is not reversed immediately, a full-scale protest movement will be launched, for which the government and Health Department will be held responsible.
