Shahid Afridi Expresses Grief Over Killing of Religious Scholar Maulana Idrees Tarangzai
Karachi (Qudrat Daily) — Former Pakistan cricket captain Shahid Afridi has expressed deep sorrow over the killing of renowned religious scholar and former lawmaker Maulana Idrees Tarangzai.
In a statement shared on his official Facebook page, Afridi said he was deeply saddened by the news of the scholar’s death in what he described as a cowardly attack.
He prayed for the departed soul, asking for his martyrdom to be accepted, for his ranks to be elevated, and for him to be granted a high place in paradise. Afridi also extended his condolences to the bereaved family, praying for their strength and patience.
Afridi further stated that the scholar’s contributions in knowledge and piety would always be remembered and expressed hope that those responsible for the attack would be brought to justice soon.
It is worth noting that Maulana Idrees Tarangzai was killed a day earlier in Charsadda in a violent incident that has drawn widespread condemnation.
