Ukraine to Partner with Gulf States on Low-Cost Drone Production

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine will collaborate with Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates to jointly produce low-cost drones.

According to media reports, the initiative will go beyond manufacturing and include the development of supporting software as well as training programs to enhance operational use. The agreements are expected to be formalized through partnerships involving both government and private sector entities.

The announcement follows recent engagements between Ukraine and Gulf nations aimed at strengthening defense cooperation. In particular, Ukraine and Saudi Arabia signed a memorandum of understanding on defense procurement during President Zelenskyy’s recent visit to the Kingdom.

The agreement came after talks between Mohammed bin Salman and President Zelenskyy, signaling a growing strategic partnership between Kyiv and Gulf countries in defense and technology sectors.
