Karachi Board Bans Removal of Abaya in Exam Centers, Orders Strict Action on Complaints

Karachi — The Chairman of the Board of Secondary Education Karachi, Ghulam Hussain, has issued new directives for examination centers during the ongoing ninth and tenth-grade exams.
According to the official instructions, no complaints of cheating have been reported from female students’ centers, therefore students must not be asked to remove their burqa or abaya at any examination facility.
He warned that strict action will be taken if any exam center is found forcing female students to remove their burqa or abaya during entry or examination procedures.
The chairman further directed that no male invigilators should be appointed at female examination centers to ensure a respectful and appropriate environment for students.
The guidelines come ahead of the matriculation examinations, aiming to maintain discipline while respecting students’ privacy and cultural norms.
