Minor Fluctuations Observed in Pakistan’s Currency Market on Monday

On the first business day of the week, fresh rates for foreign currencies were released in Pakistan’s open and interbank markets, showing slight variations across major currencies.

In the open market, the US Dollar was being bought at PKR 279 and sold at PKR 280.15. The Euro remained at PKR 321.42 for buying and PKR 327.42 for selling, while the British Pound increased from PKR 368.79 to PKR 374.04 for sale.

Other currencies traded as follows: Saudi Riyal at PKR 74.40/75.55, UAE Dirham at PKR 75.95/77.25, Canadian Dollar at PKR 198.02–204.50, Australian Dollar at PKR 188.78–193.77, Chinese Yuan at PKR 36.45/37.55, and Japanese Yen at PKR 1.72–1.81.

In the interbank market, the US Dollar traded at PKR 279/279.50, the Euro at PKR 321.84–322.42, and the British Pound at PKR 369.11–369.77.

Other interbank rates included: Saudi Riyal at PKR 74.33–74.46, UAE Dirham at PKR 35.60–35.66, Swiss Franc at PKR 349.41–350.03, and Singapore Dollar at PKR 217.09–217.48.

Experts attribute the minor fluctuations to global market volatility and domestic economic conditions.
