Pakistan, Türkiye to Sign Judicial Cooperation Agreement in Islamabad

A significant step toward strengthening judicial ties between Pakistan and Türkiye is expected today, as both countries prepare to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Supreme Court of Pakistan in Islamabad.
The ceremony will be attended by a Turkish delegation led by Kadir Özkaya, who is visiting Pakistan from April 6 to 9.
According to sources, the agreement aims to enhance judicial cooperation between the two nations, focusing on judicial training, exchange of best practices, and the use of modern technology to improve the delivery of justice.
The collaboration is also expected to prioritize professional training for district judiciary, along with increased cooperation in the field of judicial reforms.
Discussions will include the establishment of a joint working group and efforts to promote judicial independence and the rule of law.
The event at the Supreme Court of Pakistan will be broadcast live, with senior judges and high-ranking officials in attendance. During their visit, the Turkish delegation is also scheduled to tour historic sites in Taxila and Lahore.
