Husband of Stage Actress Deedar Arrested in Human Trafficking Case

Lahore: Authorities have arrested the husband of Pakistani stage actress Deedar for his alleged involvement in a human trafficking and overseas recruitment scam.

Officials from the Federal Investigation Agency conducted a joint operation involving teams from Islamabad and Lahore, taking suspect Jahanzeb into custody.

During the raid, the FIA team reportedly faced strong resistance from the suspect’s security guards. The operation was led by Inspector Abdullah Kiyani, and authorities said eight guards attempted to obstruct the arrest. Additional support from the Punjab Police was requested to complete the operation.

After his arrest in Lahore, the suspect was transferred to Islamabad as he was wanted by the FIA’s Islamabad Zone in connection with multiple complaints.

Investigators say the accused allegedly defrauded thousands of people by promising overseas employment opportunities and recruitment services. He reportedly operated an office in Islamabad’s G-11 while running similar activities in Lahore.

According to officials, actress Deedar is also suspected of involvement in the alleged scheme alongside her husband, though further investigations are underway. Authorities say more revelations are expected as the probe continues.

Several victims had earlier filed complaints against Jahanzeb, including petitions addressed to the Pakistan Army chief regarding the alleged fraud.
