Austrian Investors Show Readiness to Invest in Pakistan at Vienna Business Roundtable

ISLAMABAD: Austrian investors and business leaders have expressed readiness to invest in Pakistan during a high-level business roundtable held in Vienna under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The event, organized during the prime minister’s official visit to Austria, brought together prominent entrepreneurs from both countries at the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber. Austrian participants responded positively to the prime minister’s invitation to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan.
Addressing the forum, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar emphasized the need to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, technology, and innovation. He noted that expanding economic ties between Pakistan and Austria would open new avenues of shared prosperity.
Dar highlighted Pakistan’s ongoing economic reforms and government measures aimed at improving the ease of doing business. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing an investor-friendly environment and facilitating foreign investment.
Referring to Austria’s technological expertise and Pakistan’s dynamic market and young workforce, he pointed out significant potential for joint ventures and technology transfer. He also reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to building a strong and long-term partnership with Austria, expressing confidence that enhanced business linkages and sustained political engagement would create new opportunities not only with Austria but across the broader European region.
