16-Year-Old Boy Shot Dead in Alleged Robbery at Karachi Housing Society, Mystery Deepens

Karachi: A 16-year-old boy was shot dead in what has been described as a mysterious firing incident during an alleged robbery at a private housing society in Karachi’s Scheme 33 area, with police saying the case has taken on a puzzling dimension.
The incident occurred in the Meerut Society area of SITE Super Highway. The body of the deceased was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital through a Chhipa Welfare Association ambulance.
According to a spokesperson for Karachi Police, the victim was identified as 16-year-old Ayan, son of عمران. Police said the teenager sustained a single bullet wound to the abdomen from the front. Initial assessments suggest the incident may be linked to personal enmity, though investigations are ongoing.
The SHO of SITE Super Highway police station reached the scene soon after the incident. Officials noted that the housing society has strict security arrangements, making it seemingly difficult for robbers to enter, carry out a crime, and escape undetected.
A relative of the deceased claimed that unidentified armed men broke into the house between Thursday and Friday night and began looting. According to the family’s account, Ayan, who had fallen asleep while studying online in his room, woke up during the robbery. The suspects allegedly opened indiscriminate fire while fleeing, and a bullet struck Ayan, killing him on the spot.
However, police said the family initially refused to speak to the media and did not immediately inform authorities about the incident. Officers reached the location after receiving confidential information. While the family has maintained that the killing occurred during a robbery, investigators are examining all angles as they attempt to unravel the mystery behind the teenager’s death.
