Australia Series to Decide Pakistan’s Final World Cup Combination: Captain Salman Agha

Lahore: Pakistan cricket team captain Salman Agha has said that the upcoming series against Australia will play a crucial role in finalizing Pakistan’s World Cup squad combination, adding that young player Usman Tariq could emerge as a trump card for the national side.

Speaking at a press conference after the trophy unveiling ceremony, Salman Agha described the Australia series as extremely important in terms of World Cup preparations. He said that following this series, Pakistan’s final combination for the World Cup would become clear.

The captain added that the team management would test different combinations during the series to ensure the best possible balance ahead of the mega event. He expressed confidence in Usman Tariq, saying the young player has the potential to deliver impactful performances in the World Cup.

Salman Agha also highlighted the importance of a balanced mix of young and senior players, stating that such a combination could produce positive results for Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Australian captain Mitchell Marsh acknowledged that Pakistan’s fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi would be a major challenge for his team. He admitted that Shaheen, with the new ball, can trouble any batting lineup.

Marsh said the Australian team would take the field fully prepared, adding that the final playing XI would be decided on match day.
