“It’s Not About Pictures, Hearts Should Be United”: Captain Safdar Responds to Questions on Missing Photos with Maryam at Son’s Wedding

Lahore: Captain (Retired) Safdar, husband of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, responded to questions about the lack of public photographs with his wife at their son Junaid Safdar’s wedding.

The wedding, held in recent days, saw numerous pictures shared on social media, mostly featuring Maryam Nawaz, while fewer images of Captain Safdar were visible. Social media users raised questions about the absence of joint pictures of the couple at the event.

Speaking to media outside the Supreme Court, Captain Safdar said:
“If you wish, I can stand there with the CM today and send you a picture.”

He further added:
“It’s not about pictures, hearts should be connected. Our hearts are deeply connected. Where it beats there, it pumps here; where it beats here, it pumps there.”

Addressing the criticism from some quarters, he said:
“I will pray for those who criticized the wedding photos that Allah brings happiness to their homes as well. I also thank everyone, including the critics, who conveyed their congratulations.”

Captain Safdar’s comments highlight his emphasis on emotional bonds over public display, amid the social media discussions surrounding the couple’s visibility at family events.
