Transporters Protest Alleged Extortion at Mochko Check Post, Quetta-Karachi Bus Service Halted

**Quetta:** Passenger bus services between Quetta and Karachi have been completely suspended as transporters staged a protest at Mochko Customs Check Post, disrupting traffic and travel. The protesting transporters allege that officials at the check post are forcibly demanding illegal payments, creating severe difficulties for both transport operators and passengers.

Transporter Fida Muhammad claimed that such demands for unlawful payments occur regularly and will not be tolerated. He warned that the protest will continue, and bus services will remain suspended until their legitimate demands are addressed.

The protest received full backing from the All Balochistan Transporters Action Committee. Committee President Habibullah Khan Badizai, Secretary General Mir Akbar Lahri, and other officials demanded immediate action against the alleged extortion at Mochko Check Post and urged authorities to provide a safe working environment for transporters.

They also warned that if authorities fail to respond promptly, the scope of the protest will be expanded, holding the responsible agencies accountable. The transporters appealed to the government to ensure the uninterrupted restoration of passenger transport services and protection for transport operators to prevent further hardships for the public.
