Arab Countries Assure Relaxation in Visa Policies for Pakistanis

Islamabad: Arab countries have assured Pakistan of easing visa policies for Pakistani nationals, Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Salik Hussain announced, calling it a major positive development.

According to a private TV channel, Samaa News, Salik Hussain said that discussions were held with Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait regarding the relaxation of visa policies, and a positive response has been received from these countries.

The federal minister also disclosed that Pakistan has finalized an employment scheme agreement with Italy. He said an Italian delegation will visit Pakistan next month to finalize the operational mechanism of the agreement.

Meanwhile, Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates have agreed on pre-immigration clearance. During a meeting between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and a UAE delegation led by Director General Customs and Port Security Ahmed bin Lahej Al Falasi, both sides agreed to formally sign an agreement on pre-immigration clearance between the two countries.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi stated that immigration and related clearance procedures for passengers would be completed in Pakistan. After the implementation of this system, travelers will not have to undergo lengthy immigration procedures upon arrival in the UAE and will be able to exit the airport like domestic passengers.

He added that the new system will initially be launched on a pilot basis from Karachi.
