Bizarre Theft Attempt Foiled as Burglar Gets Stuck in Kitchen Exhaust Fan in Kota

A strange burglary attempt in the Indian city of Kota, Rajasthan, ended in failure when a thief became trapped in the opening of a kitchen exhaust fan while trying to break into a house.

The incident occurred at the residence of Subhash Kumar Rawat, who, along with his wife, had gone on January 3 to visit the Khatu Shyam Temple in Sikar district. The couple returned home around 1:00 am the following night and noticed something unusual as soon as they opened the main door.

Using the headlight of a scooter parked outside, light fell into the kitchen, revealing a shocking scene: a man was stuck halfway inside and halfway outside the exhaust fan opening. The burglar had attempted to enter the house through the exhaust fan but got wedged inside.

Alarmed, the homeowners raised an alarm, prompting neighbors to gather at the spot. Police were informed and arrived shortly afterward.

According to police, the trapped thief was not acting alone. His accomplice fled the scene upon hearing the noise, while the other got stuck in the exhaust opening. Police said the trapped suspect even tried to intimidate the homeowners, claiming his associates were nearby.

After nearly an hour of effort, police managed to free the suspect from the exhaust fan and took him into custody. Further investigation is underway.

**Vehicle with Police Sticker Seized**

Police also seized a vehicle belonging to the suspect, which surprisingly had a police sticker affixed to it. Authorities suspect the sticker was used to deceive people and avoid suspicion.

A video of the incident has gone viral on social media, drawing humorous reactions from users. One user joked that the thief’s name was “Pawan” (which also means “air” in Hindi), making his entrapment in an exhaust fan especially ironic. Many others described the incident as an example of instant karma for wrongdoing.
