Kohistan Financial Scandal: Suspects Placed on 7-Day Physical Remand by NAB

Peshawar: In the Kohistan financial scandal, two suspects have been handed over to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on a seven-day physical remand, the accountability court confirmed.

According to Express News, the suspects were presented before the Accountability Court, accompanied by NAB Senior Prosecutor Habibullah Baig and the investigating officer.

Judge Hamid Mughal granted the NAB’s request, extending the suspects’ physical remand for seven days to allow further investigation.

During the hearing, the investigating officer stated that one suspect, Gulzada, is the owner of a private construction company, with bank transactions amounting to PKR 251.8 million. The second suspect, Nawabzada, is a contractor whose bank account recorded transactions of PKR 180 million.

The officer added that both suspects have made additional disclosures during interrogation, necessitating further questioning, which justified the extension of their physical remand.
