ANF Nationwide Crackdown Seizes Over PKR 180 Million Worth of Drugs, 7 Arrested

Rawalpindi: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) carried out a nationwide crackdown against drug smuggling, recovering drugs worth over PKR 184.3 million across multiple cities and near educational institutions.

According to the ANF spokesperson, six separate operations led to the seizure of 208.3 kilograms of narcotics and the arrest of seven suspects.

During special operations near educational institutions, authorities recovered 2.4 kilograms of hashish from a suspect near a hospital on GT Road, Rawalpindi. At the Islamabad Motorway toll plaza, 600 grams of hashish were seized from a vehicle, leading to the arrest of two individuals. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were selling drugs to students.

In other operations, 144 grams of cannabis oil were recovered from a parcel arriving from the UK at a courier office in Chaklala, Rawalpindi, resulting in one arrest. Near Korangi Brooks Chowrangi in Karachi, a suspect was found with 36 kilograms of hashish, while 19.2 kilograms were seized from a vehicle near Chenab Bridge on GT Road in Gujarat, with two more arrests made.

Additionally, 150 kilograms of heroin were recovered during an operation on Western Bypass, Khuzdar, Balochistan.

The ANF confirmed that cases have been registered under the Anti-Narcotics Act 1997, and further investigations are underway.
