PTI Power Blocs Seek to Replace Sohail Afridi’s Nomination as KP CM, Says Sher Afzal Marwat

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and Member of the National Assembly **Sher Afzal Marwat** has claimed that **powerful groups within the party** are seeking to **change the nomination of Sohail Afridi** as Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Speaking on Geo News program *Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Saath*, Marwat said that **Sohail Afridi**, the party’s nominated CM candidate, “blindly follows the directions of the PTI founder,” which has caused concern among influential party factions.
He added that **Ali Amin Gandapur’s stance on the recent operation** differed from that of the PTI founder, and that **Gandapur was blamed for Bushra Bibi’s imprisonment**. Marwat further revealed that **Gandapur had ongoing differences** with party leaders **Junaid Akbar, Asad Qaiser, and Shahram Tarakai**, and later even **fell out with Aleema Khan**.
According to Marwat, Gandapur had confided to him that he complained to the PTI founder about **family interference in party affairs**, saying he saw **no possibility of release for another year or more**. “Perhaps that is why the PTI founder felt that Ali Amin was no longer needed,” Marwat remarked.
