Muslim Foreign Ministers Urge Immediate End to Gaza War, Call for Lasting Peace

ISLAMABAD: The foreign ministers of **Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Egypt** have issued a joint statement welcoming **U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal** for an end to the war in Gaza and the release of hostages.
The ministers described **Hamas’s acceptance** of the proposal and willingness to begin negotiations as a **positive development** and a potential step toward achieving lasting peace in the region.
The joint statement urged **Israel to immediately halt its bombardment**, ensure the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid, and move toward a **comprehensive and durable ceasefire agreement**. The ministers stressed that the humanitarian situation in Gaza remains dire and called on the international community to play an effective role in addressing it.
They also welcomed **Hamas’s announcement** to hand over Gaza’s administration to a **transitional Palestinian committee**, urging that **immediate negotiations** be initiated to implement this step effectively.
Reaffirming their collective commitment, the ministers vowed to continue efforts for an **immediate end to the conflict**, **unrestricted humanitarian assistance**, and the pursuit of a **comprehensive peace accord**.

The statement further emphasized that the **forced displacement of the Palestinian people is unacceptable** and that all actions endangering civilians must cease.
Concluding the statement, the ministers called for the **reunification of Gaza and the West Bank under the Palestinian Authority**, the **withdrawal of Israeli forces**, and renewed commitment to a **two-state solution** as the foundation for a **just and lasting peace** in the Middle East.
