ICC Women’s World Cup Kicks Off Today, Pakistan to Open Campaign on October 2

GUWAHATI:The **ICC Women’s World Cup** begins today with the **opening match between India and Sri Lanka in Guwahati**.

A total of **eight teams** are competing in the tournament: **Australia (defending champions), New Zealand, South Africa, England, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and hosts India**.

The **Pakistan women’s team** will play all its matches in **Colombo, Sri Lanka**, starting its campaign on **October 2 against Bangladesh**.

Captain **Fatima Sana** expressed confidence ahead of the tournament, saying: *“We have had productive training sessions in Colombo, and I am very satisfied with the energy and commitment shown by the players.”*
