Joint Statement Issued After US-Muslim Leaders Meeting in New York, Focus on Gaza Reconstruction

NEW YORK: A joint communiqué has been released following the meeting between US President Donald Trump and leaders of Islamic countries in New York. The statement reaffirmed the participants’ commitment to lasting peace under President Trump’s leadership and emphasized support for global aid to Gaza and strengthening the Palestinian leadership.

Muslim and Arab leaders expressed their backing for a comprehensive reconstruction plan for Gaza during the meeting with President Trump.

Speaking to journalists in New York, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that discussions would be held today regarding the implementation of the joint communiqué. He noted that Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar is participating in a key meeting focused on translating the statement into actionable measures.

On questions about Palestine and Kashmir, PM Shehbaz Sharif clarified that he would address all related issues during the United Nations General Assembly session.

The Prime Minister also hailed Pakistan’s military achievements, describing the “Battle of Haq” as a great victory for the country, asserting that Pakistan’s armed forces defeated India and humbled its pride. He commended Field Marshal Asim Munir for demonstrating Pakistan’s military strategy to the world.

Regarding relations with Bangladesh, PM Shehbaz Sharif said ties are improving day by day, with plans to further enhance trade and diplomatic cooperation.
