Atiqa Odho Calls for Bold and Dangerous Dramas to Be Aired After 10 PM

LAHORE: Veteran actress and drama critic Atiqa Odho has suggested that dramas with bold, horror, or sensitive themes should be aired at 10 PM instead of the prime-time slot of 8 PM.

During a recent episode of the TV show *Kya Drama Hai*, Odho joined fellow actresses Nadia Khan and Marina Khan in discussing the increasing trend of bold content in Pakistani dramas.

Nadia Khan pointed out that many dramas aired at 8 PM contain inappropriate language and scenes that are unsuitable for young viewers. “Young people should not be watching such dramas, and if they do, it can have a negative impact,” she said.

Agreeing with her, Atiqa Odho argued that dramas made specifically for adult audiences should be scheduled later at night. She cited recently concluded dramas like *Dayan* and *Sher*, noting that their bold and dark content made them inappropriate for early prime-time airing.

“These dramas are meant for mature audiences, as they include frightening scenes and language not suitable for younger viewers. Therefore, such content should be aired later,” Odho emphasized.

She proposed that drama channels shift adult-oriented content to a 10 PM slot, ensuring that family-friendly programming remains accessible during peak viewing hours of 7 to 9 PM.

In Pakistan, dramas aired between 7 and 9 PM are traditionally considered prime-time hits and attract the highest viewership. However, drama critics are now urging channels to reconsider schedules and move bold or mature content to later hours.
