Monsoon Rains in Balochistan Claim 16 Lives, Cause Widespread Damage

Quetta:The monsoon season in Balochistan has caused significant devastation, with heavy rains, flash floods, wall collapses, and lightning strikes resulting in the loss of 16 lives and leaving 8 others injured. According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) report, the casualties include 7 children, 5 men, and 4 women.
In addition to the tragic loss of life, the monsoon rains and subsequent floods have caused extensive damage to infrastructure and property. The report states that 11 houses were completely destroyed, while 55 others suffered partial damage. Furthermore, heavy rains in areas like Qila Saifullah and Ziarat caused damage to 4 government buildings.
The torrential downpours and flooding have also affected solar panels and crops in various districts, exacerbating the hardship faced by local communities. The PDMA continues to assess the damage, while relief efforts are underway to provide aid to the affected individuals and communities.
The government has urged citizens to stay cautious and adhere to safety protocols as the monsoon season progresses.
