Earthquake Tremors Felt in Lahore and Various Cities of Punjab, Panic Among Citizens

Lahore: Earthquake tremors were felt across Lahore, the capital of Punjab, and several other cities in the province, causing widespread panic among the residents. People rushed out of their homes reciting the Kalima (Islamic declaration of faith) in fear.
According to reports, the tremors were felt in various areas including Kasur, Okara, Sheikhupura, and Mandi Bahauddin. Following the incident, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) received initial reports from all districts of Punjab. Local authorities are currently conducting building inspections in affected areas.
DG PDMA stated that machinery and staff have been kept on high alert to handle any aftershocks. The Provincial Control Room of PDMA, along with District Emergency Operation Centers across Punjab, are operational 24/7 to monitor the situation.
A spokesperson for PDMA urged citizens to report any damage caused by the earthquake through the PDMA helpline at 1129.
According to the seismic center, the earthquake’s epicenter was located 25 kilometers south of Lahore, with a depth of 14.5 kilometers underground. No significant casualties or property damage have been reported as of now.
