Lahore High Court Orders Seizure of Properties Belonging to Former Federal Minister Monis Elahi

Islamabad:The Lahore High Court’s Special Central Court has issued orders to seize properties owned by nine suspects, including former federal minister Monis Elahi.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) presented incomplete charge sheets against Monis Elahi and six others in court, recommending their placement on the exit control list.

Following the FIA’s request, the court has frozen the properties of Monis Elahi and eight other suspects. Legal representatives of Monis Elahi and Zia Abbas have requested time to present evidence regarding the frozen properties, with the court granting them until August 20th to submit their arguments.

According to the FIA, efforts are underway to coordinate with international authorities for the arrest of Monis Elahi, with Interpol having issued red notices against him. Zara Elahi is also facing allegations related to financial irregularities, as per FIA officials.
