National Party Raises Alarm Over Forced Disappearances in Balochistan
Quetta:Saad Dahwar Provincial Social Media Secretary of the National Party, voiced deep concerns in a recent statement regarding the alarming increase in enforced disappearances violating constitutional and legal rights across Balochistan. He emphasized that families of missing persons are engaging in persistent protests on Balochistan’s streets, yet their cries seem to fall on deaf ears among the authorities.
Dahwar condemned the role of corruption in perpetuating silence on the grave issue facilitated through Form 47, exacerbating tensions between citizens and the state in Balochistan. He highlighted the ongoing protest by relatives of missing Zahid Baloch at Serena Hotel in Quetta for the past week, underscoring the lack of attention paid to their demands for justice.
The National Party demands that anyone found guilty of wrongdoing should be brought before the courts under constitutional laws, and proactive measures should be taken beyond legal frameworks to ensure the safe return of all missing persons. The party asserts that mutual dialogue and understanding are essential for resolving Balochistan’s issues, cautioning against the escalating tensions and increasing alienation between the state and its citizens due to the excessive use of power.
