Amanullah Kanrani Hails Lahore High Court Bar Election Victory as a Milestone for Constitutional Supremacy and Judicial Independence

Quetta:Former President of the Supreme Court Bar Association, Amanullah Kanrani, has hailed the overwhelming success of the Professional Lawyers Group candidates in the Lahore High Court Bar Association elections as a significant step forward in the fight for the supremacy of the Constitution, the rule of law, and the independence of the judiciary.
Kanrani congratulated presidential candidate Asif Naswana and the entire cabinet on their decisive victory, stating that it symbolizes a referendum against the controversial 26th Amendment to the Constitution.
Earlier, the Professional Lawyers Group’s win in the Lahore Bar Association elections had demonstrated strong support for the leadership of Hamid Khan, a move that was widely praised by the All Pakistan Lawyers Action Committee, led by Munir A. Malik, and other members.
Kanrani further emphasized that these results are a testament to the legal community’s commitment to upholding constitutional integrity and judicial independence. He expressed optimism that this movement will continue to grow stronger, eventually reaching a decisive phase that will restore the dignity of the judiciary and undo the effects of the 26th Amendment.
