Protests Erupt in Goni Grisha Over Transfer of Non-Local Employees at BHU

Greshka:The residents of Goni Grisha, a locality in Khuzdar, have strongly condemned the recent appointment of two non-local employees at the Basic Health Unit (BHU) Goni Grisha. They have threatened to launch a protest, including besieging the District Health Office in Khuzdar, if these non-local employees are not transferred.

The local residents have expressed their dissatisfaction, stating that two employees, identified as Kaleemullah (Chowkidar) and Ghulam Murtaza (Nursing Attendant), were appointed at BHU Goni Grisha despite not being locals of the area. According to the locals, these individuals were appointed through what they described as the “collusion of the health department,” and their presence in the health unit has raised several concerns, as neither the hospital staff is aware of their appointments nor have they submitted attendance reports.

Earlier, Rehiz Taj Sajdi, the Chairman of the Union Council of Goni Grisha, had pointed out this issue, stating that the appointments were made without the consent or knowledge of the local community. He revealed that the non-local employees were occupying key positions at BHU Goni Grisha, which caused further unrest among the local population. Despite lodging a formal complaint with the Deputy Commissioner of Khuzdar, the matter has not been addressed, leaving the locals feeling unheard and frustrated.

The protesting locals have now warned that if the non-local employees are not transferred from Goni Grisha, they will take drastic action. They have threatened to lock the hospital and boycott the upcoming polio campaign scheduled for December 30. Additionally, they have announced plans to block the CPEC highway indefinitely, holding the District Health Officer (DHO) Khuzdar and other responsible officials accountable for the situation.

The locals have repeatedly requested that the issue be resolved, and they have made it clear that they will continue their protests until their demands are met.
