Shah Rukh Khan Talks About His Relationship with Gauri Khan in Viral Interview

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan recently sparked interest with an old interview that has gone viral, where he shared a humorous incident involving his wife, Gauri Khan, and her family. The actor recalled a time when he jokingly suggested that Gauri should start wearing a *burqa* and perform prayers, leaving her family astonished.

In the interview, Shah Rukh said that during a family gathering, while Gauri’s relatives were speaking in Punjabi, he teased them by saying, “Get up, let’s go, wear the burqa, and offer prayers.” His comment made Gauri’s family members glare at him in shock, wondering if he had converted Gauri to Islam.

The actor humorously added that he jokingly declared that Gauri would now wear a *burqa*, not leave the house, and change her name to Ayesha Khan. Shah Rukh went on to explain that his family, startled by the comment, got upset, and he had to quickly clarify that he was only making a joke.

Despite the playful banter, both Shah Rukh and Gauri had previously decided before their marriage that Gauri would not convert to Islam. In a 2005 appearance on Karan Johar’s show “Koffee with Karan,” Gauri Khan confirmed that while she respected Shah Rukh’s religion, she would not change hers. She emphasized that mutual respect for each other’s beliefs was essential, but changing religion was not something she believed in.

Shah Rukh Khan has often spoken about his love and respect for Gauri, calling her the “simplest” person he knows, and acknowledging that her unwavering belief in family values and love has kept their relationship strong over the years.
