PTI Leader Submits Affidavit Denying Statement Against Imran Khan
Rawalpindi:In connection with the May 9 incident cases, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sadaqat Ali Abbasi has submitted an affidavit to the court, denying that he made any statement against PTI Chairman Imran Khan or the party leadership.
During the hearing of the GHQ attack case, former PTI Member of National Assembly (MNA) Sadaqat Ali Abbasi also filed a petition for acquittal, along with the affidavit. In the affidavit, he stated that he did not record any statement under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) and did not make any accusations against the party leadership or Imran Khan. He further asserted that he had not identified anyone or provided any information implicating others in the case.
Abbasi’s affidavit further clarified that he had not made any statements against PTI or its leadership, and therefore, should be acquitted of the charges. He claimed that the statement attributed to him under Section 164 was false and that he had never recorded such a statement.
The petition for acquittal and affidavit were submitted through his lawyer, Ghulam Mutaza Sanbal. The hearing of the petition under Section 265-D of the Criminal Procedure Code is expected to take place today.
