PM Shahbaz Sharif Directs Immediate and Uninterrupted Gas Supply to Domestic Consumers
Islamabad:Prime Minister **Shehbaz Sharif** has instructed that the uninterrupted supply of gas to domestic consumers be ensured immediately during the winter season. He emphasized that reforms in the system’s structure should be implemented to permanently resolve the issue. Ensuring gas supply to domestic consumers is a **top priority** for the government.
According to a press release issued by the **Press Information Department (PID)**, the Prime Minister took notice of complaints regarding the reduction in gas supply to domestic users during a review meeting on gas supply across the country. He directed that immediate measures be taken to ensure an uninterrupted gas supply to households.
In the briefing provided during the meeting, it was highlighted that there is a **surplus of RLNG** in the system, which has led to improvements in **gas load management** compared to last year. The duration of **gas load shedding** this year is shorter than it was last year. Domestic consumers are being provided gas from **5 AM to 10 PM** every day.
It was also shared that the **power sector** is being supplied gas in accordance with its demand. Additionally, **SNGPL** and **SSGC** have online dashboards to monitor and address consumer complaints. The **complaint resolution rate** for SNGPL stands at **93%**, while for SSGC, it is **79%**. All of the country’s gas fields are also reported to be **fully operational**.
The meeting was attended by **Federal Minister for Economic Affairs, Ahad Khan Cheema**, **Federal Minister for Petroleum, Dr. Musadik Malik**, and other relevant senior government officials. The Prime Minister’s instructions reflect the government’s commitment to addressing energy supply issues and improving the gas distribution system for domestic consumers.
