Sindh Excise Department Orders Replacement of Number Plates for All Commercial and Private Vehicles

Islamabad:The Sindh Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control Department has issued new directives for the replacement of number plates on all commercial and private vehicles in the province.

According to a notification issued by the department, private vehicles will be required to have white number plates featuring a design inspired by the Sindhi Ajrak, while commercial vehicles will be given yellow number plates with the same Sindhi Ajrak design.

The notification further stated that, effective from April 3, 2025, yellow number plates on private vehicles and black number plates on commercial vehicles will no longer be accepted.

The Excise Department explained that this change is being implemented to enhance vehicle security measures and ensure uniform identification of vehicles across the province. Vehicle owners have been instructed to replace their old number plates before the deadline of April 3, 2025.
