Governor Balochistan Addresses Closing Ceremony of Civil Services Academy Training Program

Quetta:The Governor of Balochistan, Jaafar Khan Mandokhail, addressed the closing ceremony of the training program for officers at the Balochistan Civil Services Academy. In his speech, he emphasized that government officers are the face of the state and play a vital role in addressing the challenges of poverty and underdevelopment in Balochistan. He stated that the people of the province have high expectations from both the political leadership and the bureaucracy to bring about positive change.

He expressed pride that the officers had received modern training at their own provincial academy and stressed the importance of using their knowledge and experience for the welfare of the public. “It is essential that you keep government offices open for the general public, make decisions based on merit, and make proper use of your powers so that the training you have received can yield fruitful results,” he stated.

The Governor also commended Dr. Hafeez Ahmad Jamali, the Director General of the Civil Services Academy, and his team for their outstanding performance and the successful completion of the training program.

The closing ceremony was attended by Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Rubina Mushtaq, Dr. Hafeez Ahmad Jamali (Director General of the Civil Services Academy), former Chairman of CMIT Dostin Jamaldini, Provincial Secretaries Saira Atta, Abdullah Khan Noorzai, Abdul Rauf Baloch, Principal Secretary to the Governor of Balochistan Hashim Khan Gulzai, and faculty members of the Civil Services Academy.

During his address to the trainees and assistants, the Governor highlighted the significant increase in the responsibilities of provincial governments following the 18th Amendment. He emphasized the urgent need to invest in training and enhancing the skills of government officers and employees. “It is a moment of joy that the Government of Balochistan has acknowledged this need and addressed it by establishing a provincial institution, filling this gap,” he said. The Governor also appreciated the efforts of the Civil Services Academy, political leadership, and senior bureaucracy in investing in the training of serving officers in the province.

Governor Mandokhail pointed out that Balochistan is the largest province of Pakistan in terms of area and is rich in natural resources and minerals. “The province also boasts a strategic coastal belt and long borders with Iran and Afghanistan. Timely investment can help us develop our human resources, teach modern skills to our youth, and empower women, leading to rapid economic growth and an improved standard of living for the people,” he added.

He urged all elected representatives to develop a comprehensive strategy to tackle the challenges at hand, formulate people-friendly policies, set new priorities in line with modern requirements, and especially meet the expectations of the people. “Civil servants have a duty to uphold the highest ethical and professional standards while serving the public and to set clear goals and priorities in their professional careers,” he said.

At the end of the ceremony, the Governor distributed certificates and commemorative shields to the trainees and the administrators of the Civil Services Academy.
