Islamabad: YouTuber Rajab Butt has come under fire on social media following his extravagant wedding celebrations, where he publicly showcased his wealth. While some of his followers are celebrating his marriage, critics have raised concerns over the excessive display of money.
One of the most controversial moments was a video from Rajab Butt’s dholki ceremony, in which he threw money at his wife, Imaan. Many social media users were quick to condemn this act. One user remarked, “We need to end this culture where money is thrown on women. How could a woman allow such behavior? No respectable woman would tolerate being showered with money.”
Another user called for someone from the crowd to step up and remind Rajab that such actions are inappropriate and un-Islamic. “This foolish and servile culture needs to be eradicated,” said another critic. “Any charity or donation should be done with sincerity, not for show. What remains is nothing but the display of power and arrogance.”
Some users even criticized Rajab Butt’s education and the message his behavior sent, stating that such actions prevent societal progress. One user warned, “If this behavior continues, the country will remain stuck in its current state for the next 77 years.”
Amid the criticism, a number of users questioned the source of the money that Rajab Butt was displaying and called on the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to investigate his finances.
For context, Rajab Butt became one of Pakistan’s most prominent YouTubers in 2024, topping the list of the country’s most trending YouTube videos. He currently has 4.4 million subscribers on YouTube and 1.1 million followers on Instagram.
