We Must Raise Our Voice for the Missing”: Sadaf Amir Baloch Appeals for Justice on International Human Rights Day

Quetta:Sadaf Amir Baloch, the daughter of the forcibly disappeared activist Amir Bakhsh Baloch, has once again raised her voice for justice and the recovery of missing persons, particularly her father, who was abducted on August 4, 2014, from the Kalanch area. Speaking on the occasion of **International Human Rights Day (December 10)**, she expressed the deep emotional and psychological toll that her father’s abduction has taken on her family.

Sadaf described how the disappearance of her father had shattered their lives. She said, *”My father, Amir Bakhsh Baloch, was forcibly disappeared from Kalanch on August 4, 2014, and remains missing to this day. His disappearance has completely changed our lives. We are not only grieving his absence but have been deprived of all our basic human rights as well.”*

She further explained the immense pain and suffering her family faces daily: *”We cannot go to school, live a normal life, and every day is filled with anguish. My father’s disappearance is a wound that grows deeper with time. Since he went missing, our family has not known a single moment of peace. We are not only searching for him but live in constant fear, not knowing where he is, in what condition, and how long we will continue to suffer this torment.”*

On the occasion of **Human Rights Day**, Sadaf called on human rights organizations, social activists, and the general public to dedicate this day to raising awareness about the enforced disappearances of Baloch individuals, especially her father. She urged, *”I appeal to all human rights organizations, social activists, and the public to recognize this day in the name of my father Amir Bakhsh Baloch and all other forcibly disappeared Baloch individuals. Speak out against their prolonged disappearances. These individuals are still separated from their families, and we don’t know where they are, in what condition, or what is happening to them.”*

She emphasized the need for a global call for the restoration of the rights of the missing persons: *”We must use this day as an opportunity to raise our voices on the global stage to demand the recovery of all missing individuals’ rights. The case of my father’s disappearance is not just about my family; it is part of a larger societal injustice in which many Baloch families are praying for the return of their loved ones.”*

Sadaf also mentioned that **Baloch Voice for Justice** will be launching a campaign on **X (formerly Twitter)** on Human Rights Day. She appealed to everyone to join the campaign, raise their voices for the recovery of her father and other missing Baloch, and express their stance against the severe human rights violations and enforced disappearances faced by the Baloch community.

*“Let us all take a step together to ensure justice for the missing individuals and put an end to the suffering of their families,”* she concluded.
