Quetta Imposes Complete Ban on Four-Stroke Petrol Rickshaws, Announces Electric Shuttle Services
Quetta:In response to increasing environmental pollution and traffic issues in Quetta city, Commissioner of Quetta Division and Chairman of the Regional Transport Authority (RTA), Mohammad Hamza Shafqat, has announced a complete ban on four-stroke petrol rickshaws. As per this decision, four-stroke petrol rickshaws will no longer be allowed to operate on any route within the city.
Additionally, the Commissioner has approved the launch of electric shuttle services to provide eco-friendly transportation options for the public. These electric shuttles are expected to offer modern, safe, and environmentally friendly travel, significantly contributing to reducing pollution and improving air quality in the city.
Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Quetta Mohammad Hamza Shafqat said, “This decision reflects our commitment to providing citizens with modern and safe transportation options. The electric shuttle service will not only benefit the environment but will also offer the public an affordable, safe, and convenient mode of travel. We expect that the residents of Quetta will positively embrace this initiative and cooperate with us.”
He further assured that the divisional administration will ensure that all necessary facilities for the electric shuttle service are provided, and the route planning will be finalized soon to avoid any inconvenience to the public.
