Court Rejects Plea Against Charge Framing in Arson and Protest Case Involving Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Yasmin Rashid
Lahore: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has dismissed the pleas of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Yasmin Rashid, and others, challenging the framing of charges in the arson and protest case related to the Sherpao Bridge speeches.
The ATC judge, Arshad Javaid, conducted the hearing at the Kot Lakhpat Jail, where the presence of the accused was marked. However, the prosecution’s witnesses failed to appear for testimony. The prosecution requested additional time to present their witnesses.
The court has adjourned the hearing in the case of arson and rioting involving PTI leaders and activists until tomorrow. Shah Mehmood Qureshi and other party members had earlier contested the charges framed against them in this case.
