Pakistan Responds to India’s Non-Participation in Champions Trophy
Islamabad: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has responded to India’s decision to withdraw from the upcoming Champions Trophy, which will be hosted by Pakistan next year.
During a media briefing, Foreign Office spokesperson, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, reiterated Pakistan’s stance, emphasizing that sports should not be politicized. She expressed hope that all teams, including India, would participate in the Champions Trophy to be held in Pakistan in 2025.
Baloch also highlighted that Pakistan’s position had been clearly conveyed to the International Cricket Council (ICC) as well. Despite India’s refusal to travel to Pakistan for the event, all other participating teams are expected to take part in the tournament.
The Champions Trophy will be a major sporting event in Pakistan, and the government is hopeful of a successful and inclusive competition.
