Pakistan-China Historic Partnership Proves Resilient, Says Army Chief
ISLAMABAD: Army Chief General Asim Munir has stated that Pakistan-China’s historic partnership has withstood the test of time and will continue to grow stronger. The remarks came during a visit by General Zhang Youxia, Vice Chairman of China’s Central Military Commission, to the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi. Accompanied by a delegation, General Zhang held a one-on-one meeting with General Munir, where both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security, and the promotion of bilateral defense cooperation. The Army Chief thanked the Chinese leadership for standing by Pakistan in all circumstances, while General Zhang praised Pakistan’s commitment and professionalism in combating terrorism. He reaffirmed China’s resolve to further strengthen the enduring ties between the two nations. During the visit, General Zhang also paid homage at the Martyrs’ Memorial and was presented with a Guard of Honour.
