Drone Flies Over Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s Residence; JUI-F Leader’s Son Issues Strong Warning

ISLAMABAD: Maulana Asjad Mahmood, son of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, has strongly condemned the alleged drone flight over his father’s residence in Islamabad and the subsequent circulation of its footage on social media.

In a statement, Maulana Asjad Mahmood said those responsible had shown no regard for decency or the sanctity of the privacy of homes and families.

“By violating the sanctity of the home and its four walls, you have committed a serious offence. We will not forget it, and you will be held accountable at every level,” he said.

He added that their opponents were apparently angered by the fact that their real faces were being exposed before the nation. He vowed to continue exposing them with greater determination.

Maulana Asjad Mahmood also disclosed that Islamabad police personnel visited Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s residence late at night, claiming that they had a video on their mobile phones showing some individuals standing at the entrance of a street, asking visitors for identification and introducing themselves as Maulana’s security personnel.

However, he claimed that the video shown by the police did not actually depict their street.

He alleged that the late-night police visit, the presentation of what he described as an irrelevant and fabricated video, the alleged harassment of the family and orders to withdraw security were part of a deliberate conspiracy to cause severe mental distress to Maulana Fazlur Rehman and his family and put their lives at risk.

He demanded that the government immediately clarify who had ordered what he termed an illegal and shameful operation.

Describing Maulana Fazlur Rehman as a prominent national leader, he said ensuring the safety of the JUI-F chief and his family was a fundamental responsibility of the state.

He warned that if any untoward incident occurred in the future, the government and those behind the alleged actions would be held responsible.

Maulana Asjad Mahmood further said such tactics could not weaken the resolve of JUI-F leaders and workers, urging party workers and the public to remain fully alert amid the situation.
