Hina Parvez Butt Rejects Uzma Bukhari’s Claim That Her Tweet Caused Embarrassment to CM or Punjab Government

Lahore (Qudrat Daily): Responding to Information Minister Uzma Bukhari’s statement, PML-N leader and Chairperson Punjab Women Protection Authority Hina Parvez Butt said that she rejects Uzma Bukhari’s claim that her tweet caused any embarrassment to the Chief Minister or the Punjab government, and that no statement of hers has ever caused embarrassment to the Chief Minister.
In a video statement on X, she said that it was a tweet of the kind an ordinary citizen feels and expresses an opinion about. In this tweet, she neither leveled any allegation against the Chief Minister nor the Punjab government, nor said anything about any institution. Therefore, criticizing her tweet is unjustified.
She said that her colleague Uzma Bukhari’s claim that her tweet caused embarrassment to the government or that she herself felt embarrassed is rejected with great respect.
No statement or action of hers has ever caused any embarrassment to the Chief Minister of Punjab or the Punjab government.
Hina Parvez Butt said that if Uzma Bukhari herself feels any embarrassment, that is her own choice. Uzma Bukhari is the official spokesperson of the government, so she explained the government’s policy, which is a good thing, but her remarks about her (Hina) are unnecessary and inappropriate.
Hina Parvez Butt said that the parents of Karachi’s Ezal, Multan’s Waseem, Islamabad’s Laiba, Sargodha’s Muntaha, and Abbottabad’s Eman should be called on a TV show and asked what treatment should be meted out to those who commit brutality against their children. Those who defend criminals do not meet the families whose children’s bodies are found in bad condition; I meet such parents.
Think about what the parents of these children must have gone through.
It is noteworthy that Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari, while reacting strongly to PML-N leader Hina Parvez Butt’s calling the death of the accused in the Multan minor’s killing case in a police encounter “instant justice,” said that Hina Parvez Butt’s social media posts cause embarrassment not only to herself but also to the government.
Speaking on a private TV channel Geo News program, Uzma Bukhari was asked about Hina Parvez Butt’s post in which she had described the accused’s death as instant justice under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s government. Uzma Bukhari said she did not want to say much about Hina Parvez Butt’s posts, however, her statements cause difficulties for the government as well.
It is noteworthy that after the alleged death in a police encounter of Tauqeer Nazir, the main accused in the case of running over 15-year-old orphan Waseem Abbas with a vehicle in Multan, PML-N MPA Hina Parvez Butt wrote on the social media platform X that this is Maryam Nawaz’s government where instant justice is delivered.
Her statement drew strong objections from journalists, lawyers, and social media users, who questioned how the killing of an accused in a police encounter without judicial proceedings and sentencing could be called justice. After criticism grew, Hina Parvez Butt deleted her relevant post.
