Pakistan’s Exports Rise 45% to $30.139 Billion Amid PM’s Special Focus

KARACHI: Pakistan’s exports have increased to $30.139 billion in 2025-26, up from $20.787 billion in 2015-16, representing a 45% growth over the decade, exporters said.
Chief Coordinator of the All Pakistan Exporters Associations Forum, Javed Bilwani, welcomed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s special focus on increasing exports and said exporters were ready to work with the government to boost foreign exchange earnings, create extensive new employment opportunities and strengthen the national economy.
He said exporters appreciated the regular consultative meetings chaired by the prime minister, adding that exports and industrial development were among the government’s key priorities.
Bilwani said the prime minister had recently referred to the underperformance of certain export sectors in his address at the stock market. However, he said reports in the media had created an impression that Pakistan’s entire export industry had failed to increase exports, which did not accurately reflect the overall performance of the country’s export sector.
He noted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had consistently prioritised export-oriented industrial development and regularly chaired meetings with stakeholders from the export industry.
According to Bilwani, the prime minister’s emphasis on increasing exports, improving quality and strengthening industrial competitiveness represented an important policy priority.
He said exporters were also fully aware that Pakistan needed higher exports, greater investment, increased value addition and improved competitiveness in international markets.
Bilwani appreciated the prime minister’s continued engagement with exporters, saying regular consultations between the government and the export sector were crucial for resolving industrial issues and strengthening Pakistan’s export competitiveness.
