PTI’s Long March Begins; Mohsin Naqvi Sets Up Camp in Peshawar

Peshawar (Qudrat Daily) — Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi arrived in Peshawar on an emergency visit, and the scope of the consultative meeting with Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi at the Governor’s House was further widened, with the province’s top security leadership also summoned.
According to sources cited in media reports, given the gravity of the situation during the meeting, Inspector General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Zulfiqar Hameed was also summoned to the Governor’s House immediately, while the province’s Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah and IG FC were already present at the important consultative meeting.
It is being reported that this emergency consultation is taking place at a time when, on one hand, the PTI long march led by Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi is moving forward from Lakki Marwat toward its first destination, and on the other hand, after the failure of negotiations between the federal and provincial governments, verbal warfare and confrontation are at their peak.
During a press conference in Lahore, Mohsin Naqvi had directly held Chief Minister Sohail Afridi responsible for the failure of the negotiations, and now, in this high-level security meeting at the Governor’s House in Peshawar, the future course of action between the federation and the province, the law and order situation, and tough administrative and security decisions to stop the long march are being considered.
