Martyrdom of Innocent Child Near Samungli Air Base Is the Height of Tyranny and Brutality: JUI Quetta District
Quetta (Daily Qudrat) — Amir of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Quetta District Sheikh-ul-Hadith Maulana Abdul Rehman Rafiq, District General Secretary Haji Ainullah Shams, Senior Deputy Amir Maulana Khurshid Ahmed, Supreme Patron Mufti Muhammad Rozi Khan, Maulana Hafizullah, Maulana Muhammad Sulaiman, Hafiz Dost Muhammad Mengal, Maulana Abdul Basir, Hafiz Rashid Ahmed, Haji Muhammad Shah Lala, Mufti Nik Muhammad Farooqi, and Haji Nematullah Achakzai have said that the brutal martyrdom of an innocent child near Samungli Air Base is the height of tyranny and brutality and an open trampling of human values. This tragic incident reflects that innocent people are being continuously crushed in the mill of unrest, violence, and insecurity.
They said that on one hand, innocent civilians are losing their lives in terrorist incidents, while on the other hand, public concerns regarding the conduct of security personnel have also continued to surface in some incidents. In the highly sensitive area around Samungli Air Base, where strict security arrangements and a state of high alert remain in place, the martyrdom of an innocent student in broad daylight gives rise to several serious questions regarding security arrangements and the protection of citizens. They said that providing protection and peace to the people is the fundamental responsibility of the state and relevant institutions. Leaving citizens continuously to fear, violence, and insecurity is by no means acceptable. Such incidents should be investigated transparently and impartially.
The leaders further said that security force personnel are protectors of the people; instead of becoming a symbol of fear and terror, they should demonstrate respect, tolerance, and gentle behavior toward citizens. The powers delegated to personnel and the weapons placed in their hands are by no means meant to frighten citizens or endanger their lives, but to protect the lives and property of the people and establish law and order. They strongly demanded that a complete, transparent, and impartial investigation into the incident be conducted and the facts brought before the public, those responsible for negligence or the alleged misuse of authority be identified, and immediate justice be provided to the affected family.
