PTI Long March Will Take Place at All Costs, We Will Not Back Down: Sohail Afridi

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will hold its long march at all costs and will not back down despite any obstacles created by the government.

Addressing a press conference in Peshawar, Afridi said, “Whether they install spikes on the roads, place containers or open fire, this time we will come out and make a one-time-for-all arrangement against this fake system and corrupt rulers.”

The chief minister said that if the government believed that creating hurdles or using other tactics could intimidate them, it was mistaken.

He said he would continue what he described as a struggle against a “fake system” and “corrupt rulers.”

Afridi alleged that preparations were being made to cut Khyber Pakhtunkhwa off from other parts of the country by installing spikes on roads.

He also questioned the purpose of restrictions allegedly imposed on provincial ministers from speaking to the media.

The KP chief minister further claimed that government officials from another province had entered Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and were engaging in confrontations with people. He warned that such actions could further escalate tensions.

Speaking about the evacuation of the Civil Secretariat, Afridi alleged that it was evacuated on the basis of what he described as fake security threats, despite the Civil Secretariat being located in the cantonment area, where its security is handled by the relevant authorities.

He said that if the government believed such measures could frighten him or force him to abandon his objectives, it was mistaken.

Afridi said that a security threat had been issued regarding a mosque, but he went to the same mosque and offered prayers there.

The chief minister reiterated that PTI would not withdraw from its announced long march under any circumstances.
