PTI Leadership Meeting; Leaders Propose Postponing Long March Until October 10

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) – The leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has proposed postponing the long march until October 10. PTI leaders have stated that the closure of Islamabad and routes reflects the government’s panic and the movement’s success. According to media reports, a high-level meeting of PTI leadership was held. The meeting was attended by Barrister Gohar, Sohail Afridi, Asad Qaiser, Salman Akram Raja, Junaid Akbar, and others.

In the meeting, the majority of PTI leadership proposed postponing the long march from October 5 to October 10. The meeting described the government’s closure of routes as a sign of the government’s panic. The closure of Islamabad and highways was termed a success of the movement.

In the PTI leadership meeting, serious reservations were expressed over the role of Opposition Leader Mahmood Achakzai and Raja Naseer Abbas. According to the party leadership, contacts are ongoing with JUI-F and the Peoples Party.

Regarding the Peoples Party, the meeting noted that the PPP leadership is not yet speaking openly and is awaiting the return of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto to the country. The meeting also considered a proposal to convene an APC between October 6 and 10.


Similarly, the performance of the party’s Sindh, Punjab, and Balochistan chapters was also reviewed.

The meeting also discussed the transfer of PTI founder Imran Khan to a hospital and the concession granted to Bushra Bibi, and it was agreed to accelerate contacts with all opposition parties. According to a declaration by the Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Aaeen Pakistan (Movement for the Protection of the Constitution of Pakistan), opposition leaders met with Mahmood Khan Achakzai, head of the Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Aaeen Pakistan. Leader of the Opposition in the Senate, Senator Allama Raja Naseer Abbas Jaffari, Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, and Senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar met with the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly and head of the Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Aaeen Pakistan, Mahmood Khan Achakzai.

The spokesperson of Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Aaeen Pakistan, Akhundzada Hussain Ahmed Yousafzai, was also present at the meeting. The primary objective of the meeting was consultation on preparations for the September 27 long march, its arrangements, and future political strategy. In this regard, detailed discussions were held on making coordination, mutual cooperation, and a joint course of action among opposition parties more effective. The meeting also reviewed the overall political situation of the country, including the current situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, law and order, and the challenges facing provincial autonomy. On this occasion, it was agreed to further strengthen and coordinate the process of mutual contacts and consultation among opposition parties.
