Islamabad Filled With Containers, Government Has Made Long March Successful Itself: Aitzaz Ahsan

ISLAMABAD: Senior lawyer Aitzaz Ahsan has criticized the government over the placement of a large number of containers and other barriers in Islamabad ahead of a possible political long march, saying that the government has itself made the march successful.

Responding to a question, Aitzaz Ahsan said the government had effectively made the long march successful by taking measures to shut down Islamabad. He said a large number of containers had been placed across the capital for this purpose.

Aitzaz Ahsan said he had never seen so many containers in his life and that residents of Islamabad had been facing difficulties for the past four days.

It may be noted that a large number of containers have recently been placed at various entry and exit points as well as major roads in Islamabad ahead of the anticipated political activity.

According to reports, more than 1,000 containers have been deployed across the city, with some reportedly being filled with sand and soil to make the barriers more secure.
