Weekly Schedules of All Government Departments Sought for Joint Operations to Resolve Civic Issues and Curb Encroachments in Quetta

Quetta: On the directives of the Commissioner Quetta Division, a divisional coordination meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Quetta Mir Allah Badeeni, which was attended by Deputy Commissioner Quetta West Munir Ahmed Durrani, all Assistant Commissioners, and officers of other relevant departments including Traffic, Excise Department, Balochistan Food Authority, Environment Department, WASA, Saffa Quetta, and the Metropolitan Corporation.

The meeting reviewed in detail various matters, including further improving mutual contact and coordination among various government departments and institutions in Quetta Division and ensuring joint and organized operations to resolve civic issues. The meeting decided that all relevant departments and institutions would prepare weekly schedules of their operations and share them with the Commissioner’s Office within three days. In light of the received schedules, necessary instructions would be issued to the Assistant Commissioners of the district administration so that mutual linkage could be created among the operations of various departments and they could be carried out in an effective and organized manner.

The meeting also decided that all relevant departments would appoint a focal person at the sub-division level who would remain in constant contact with the Assistant Commissioner. Through the focal persons, joint operations regarding action against profiteering, encroachments, traffic problems, plastic bags, and other civic issues would be organized.

Addressing the meeting on this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Quetta Mir Allah Badeeni said that all departments should carry out operations according to their relevant laws and scope under the agreed schedule, and these operations should be monitored under the leadership of the Assistant Commissioners so that coordination among different institutions could be made more effective. He said that the basic objective of the meeting is to bring all relevant institutions under an effective system to work in a coordinated manner with the district administration and to provide better service delivery to citizens. He said that joint and timely operations by all departments are necessary to resolve civic issues in Quetta city.

The Deputy Commissioner directed that in all sub-divisions of Quetta, relevant departments should carry out operations under the leadership of Assistant Commissioners according to their agreed schedule. All institutions should prepare a regular schedule of their weekly activities and operations and share it with the Commissioner’s Office, while the relevant Assistant Commissioners should ensure the process of monitoring and coordination to make operations effective according to the agreed schedule.

The meeting expressed the determination that all relevant institutions would continue operations with mutual cooperation on matters including resolving civic issues, enforcing the law, eliminating encroachments, preventing profiteering, improving traffic, and protecting the environment, so that administrative affairs and service delivery in Quetta could be further improved.
