Balochistan Health Minister Condemns Attack on Polio Team in Nushki

QUETTA: Balochistan Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar has strongly condemned the attack on a polio vaccination team in Nushki, expressing deep grief over the martyrdom of police personnel deployed to provide security to the team.
Kakar said he was deeply saddened by the deaths of the security personnel and paid tribute to the martyrs, saying their sacrifices would not go in vain.
He said elements opposed to peace were conspiring to cripple the future of Balochistan. “Polio teams are frontline workers, and such cowardly attacks cannot weaken our efforts,” the provincial health minister said.
Kakar pointed out that no polio case had been reported in Balochistan for the past 22 months, describing it as an important achievement in the province’s efforts against the disease.
He alleged that terrorists working on an external agenda were playing a dangerous game with the future of Balochistan and said protecting polio workers was the government’s foremost responsibility.
The minister said no negligence would be tolerated in ensuring the security of polio workers. He added that a healthy and developed Balochistan would be the strongest response to what he described as the conspiracies of elements opposed to peace.
Kakar vowed that the government would continue its efforts to ensure a safe and healthy future for children despite the challenges. He said the government would not hesitate to make any sacrifice for the protection of its land and the future of its people.
He further said that those seeking to promote instability in Balochistan would ultimately face the consequences of their actions.
Expressing solidarity with the bereaved families, the provincial health minister said he and the government stood with them during this difficult hour.
